Trust Jesus Not Darwin

Trust Jesus, Not Darwin

On our museum tour we've been showing you that the evidence supports what the Bible records about a global flood, and that the evidence does not support evolution as actually having happened. This leads to the question, what does the evidence say about the Bible and Jesus?

Should you trust Jesus or Darwin?

Our museum sign presents that dichotomy. At the bottom of the sign it states that Darwin was proven wrong over 50 years ago, at the end of the 1960's. There's a URL (www.SciencePsator.com/darwin) at the bottom of the sign that takes you to a page that supports this claim. To give you a quick summary, by the end of the 1960's we have learned enough about biology, the cell, and genetics such that many leading scientists concluded that life is much to complex to have come about, and evolve through random mutations.

But we (humans) have all known the truth long before that.

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools." - Romans 1:18-22

God has put within all of us basic knowledge about Him. But, we suppress that knowledge. In our pride we want to be the ones who are in charge, not God.

But God has given us a second way to know He exists, His creation. That anything at all exists is powerful evidence that God has to exist. A common analogy is that of a painting. You are visiting a museum and see a painting hanging on the wall. Where did that painting come from? Someone had to paint it. The museum building, where did that come from? There was a builder. We intuitively know that if there is a painting, there has to be a painter. If there is a building, there has to be a builder. And since there is a creation, there has to be a creator. Something does not come from nothing. (The law of causality.)

who made God?

But, Science Disproves The Bible!

I've been debunking evolution and the idea of the present always being the key to the past. As a result evolution has been shown to not be supported by the evidence. What about the Bible? Christianity is based on the Bible. Is the Bible accurate in all it teaches? Has science shown the Bible has numerous errors? What does the evidence say?

Unlike other religions, Christianity is based in history. Christianity tells us about the Creator who made everything. That means what the Bible asserts to be true, is in alignment with reality. It is true. To find out if this is statement is true I went to the American Humanist web site. Who better to turn to for accusations against the Bible? They have a long web page that attempts to prove the Bible is full of historical and scientific errors, as well as contradictions and outright immoral actions on the part of God. The answers to all of that resulted in a 400 page book. Obviously too much to put here. However, we have made the book into web pages and put it all online. Here are the links:

The bottom line is that, yes, the Bible IS ACCURATE in all that it teaches. And NO, science does not prove there are errors in the Bible. For 2000 years the Bible has withstood attacks and attempts to destroy it. It has never been proven to be in error. Let's look at the issue of scientific errors.

There are answers

Scientific Errors in the Bible

The claim that there are scientific errors in the Bible needs to be divided into several categories.

(1) The presumption that that miracles are impossible, and thus are unscientific.

This is not scientific objection, but a metaphysical one. Miracles are miracles because they violate the physical "laws." God, who created everything, including the physical laws, can certainly do that. This is not an objection to miracles in the Bible, it is an objection to God. Yet, the miracles in the Bible provide powerful proofs God does exist, is real, and that Jesus is God (see the Gospel of John). The miracles were done in public with many witnesses. They are recorded in writing in an environment in which those in power (the Jewish leadership) wanted to discredit and even kill off all Christians. What better way to discredit them than to reveal them as liars? If Jesus' miracles did not happen, the people in the crowds who followed him would have proclaimed, "He didn't do those things!" But, they couldn't. And the Jewish leaders could not deny the miracles. They had even seen some of them themselves. There were too many eyewitnesses who saw the miracles. They could not be denied. The miracles were real. They did happen. And there were things only God can do.

In responding to the humanist's web page, we answered the question: "Is Belief In The Supernatural Harmful?"

(2) Statements in the Bible about the physical world contradict what science says.

These are accusations that need to be addressed individually. Each typically has an answer based ion the context. Some are the result of misreading what scripture says, and others are the result of misrepresenting scripture or Christianity. Tapping on this sentence will take you to the index of answers to every scientific "error" humanist's came up with.

(3) There are contradictory statements in the Bible about the physical world.

The same link as above will take you to an index of pages that also address this one.For example, the humanists claim that God doesn't know the difference between birds and bats. God does. What the humanists miss is that God does not use human created systems for categorizing life. God is not required to follow our rules.

There are no scientific errors in the Bible.
